P A S S I O NWell, as you all can see, I have been extremely slow with posts…I think it’s been almost a month since my last! I apologize, but unfortunately, I am so busy with my current projects, I haven’t had a spare second to write anything!

I am in the middle of a bunch of really fun personal and professional projects that are taking up most of my time over the next few months. Some of the highlights include:

  • My super amazing family
  • Multiple new products for Microsoft
  • An interactive visual toy called univerSOUL
  • JamMaps.com + JamMaps Desktop, my maps based concert browser & tour-date management software
  • 2 New Organic Collective albums
  • The Art Of Creativity Book.
  • Sleep

As you can see, I’m nearly overwhelmed on time, but I’m making it work! Most of my focus is on univerSOUL, my interactive visual toy! Basically, its a new way for fans to interact with the music at concerts…It’s being built in Adobe AIR 2.0, with full support for WiiMote & some motion detection action.

So, my blog will have to suffer. I would LOVE to have lots of free time to write good articles for everyone, but I just don’t right now. Someday, hopefully soon, I will be able to spend time on the blog again, but the old 5-10 posts a week is definitely over for now.

Check back for updates on the current projects & demos soon!

Microsoft & AstroBoy use my product The Glider on MSN.com

AstroBoy

Look at the main story that was running this day!

I’m very happy to show this off. Microsoft officially launched my product, The Glider on MSN.com for the 2nd time (1st time was for Disney’s UP). Just go click the 300×250 AstroBoy advertisement.

Unfortunately, you have to view this in Internet Explorer. MSN.com has a weird thing for Firefox…but we could kinda expect that. Either way, it’s very exciting that more than 30,000,000 people are going to see a product I built in the next 24 hours!

This product uses the Papervision3D library, which is quickly becoming my favorite Actionscript toy!

I will be releasing more information on The Glider, as well as all of my Microsoft products soon. Here is another shot that gives you a bit of an idea of what the ad does!

Disney’s UP & MSN.uk use my product today!

Disney's UP 2 (MSN.uk)While its not the prettiest execution of my product, The Glider (more information on this & other products in the near future), it is one of the first! Today Disney & MSN launched an ad that uses a product I developed for Microsoft. The Glider is a new way to display ad space. Instead of being stuck in the 300×250 space that advertisers are normally bound to, I’ve opened up multiple new areas to display content.

Check out the Disney’s UP Glider execution (permanent link updated!). Remember, I did not design or skin this, I merely built the underlying Actionscript 3 + Papervision3D technologies that allow for the dynamic content to be loaded in on top of the MSN homepage (any MSN sites actually) and then tilted around in 3D space.

I am currently working on building out a version of The Glider for Imagi’s AstroBoy movie, which will be launching in the coming weeks. This one, I feel, is quite a bit better of an execution of the product. The UP one kinda hacked in extra stuff that wasn’t built into the original specs, but AstroBoy follows the plan perfectly.
